RFP Overview
Franklin Factor is a pioneering initiative dedicated to revolutionizing women’s health through cutting-edge technologies and innovations. Inspired by Rosalind Franklin’s discovery of DNA’s structure through X-ray diffraction and Benjamin Franklin’s spirit of
invention, this project brings new ideas and cross-disciplinary innovation to women’s health. The goal of this project is to close the innovation gap in women’s health.
Despite major advancements in healthcare, women’s health has been largely left behind in the tech revolution. Many new tools—like wearables, biosensors and at-home diagnostics—fail to consider the complex, dynamic biology of women across their lives. Key conditions like endometriosis, menopause and chronic pain remain under-tracked and poorly understood.
Franklin Factor aims to transform this landscape by advancing next-generation tools that can:
- Track and decode female physiological, molecular and biological signals
- Improve diagnosis and care through real-time data and personalized insights
- Extend health access with at-home testing for earlier detection and proactive health management
- Empower women with tools that reflect their biology
Wearables and biosensors that go beyond step counts—tracking hormonal cycles, hot flashes and sleep quality.
At-home diagnostics and microsampling kits to monitor hormones, toxins and biomarkers.
Pain-tracking devices and non-invasive treatments tailored to conditions like endometriosis or postpartum pain.
