Women make up more than half the global population. But for too long, medical research hasn't reflected that fact. Nuttall Women's Health is dedicated to funding research that will not only re-write that reality, but improve the vitality of women worldwide.

Privacy Policy

Last updated on February 2, 2026

Your privacy is important to us at NWH. We work hard to keep your information private, safe, and secure.

We wrote this Privacy Policy to help you understand what information NWH collects as part of the Nuttall Women’s Health program, what we do with that information, and what choices you have about your information. When we use the words “NWH”, “we,” “us,” or “our,” we are referring to Nuttall Women’s Health, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. When we say “you” or “your,” we are referring to you as the user of NWH’s platform or services.

When you use NWH’s platform or services, whether through our website at https://www.nuttallwomenshealth.org/ where you will be able learn more about our mission and goals, obtain information about our grant and investment opportunities, and access our grant submission portal (collectively, with related communications such as emails, social media or direct engagement, NWH’s “Services”), you accept the practices as described in this Privacy Policy

If you have any questions or comments about this Privacy Policy, please reach out to us at [email protected].

What information does NWH collect and how do we collect that information?

NWH collects information in a few different ways. This section explains what information we collect and the sources from which we collect it.

  1. Information that you give us in order to use our services. To use NWH’s Services, you must provide your email address. We will not share your email address publicly.
  2. Information that you give us as part of your application for a grant. To streamline our grant review process, we utilize ProposalCentral, a third-party grant application management platform hosted by Altum, Inc. (“Altum”). To apply for a research funding grant, you need to apply through ProposalCentral and provide ProposalCentral with certain information in order to be considered, including your name, contact information and information pertaining to your research. Information you provide to ProposalCentral will be subject to Altum’s separate privacy policy, which can be found on Altum’s website at https://altum.com/privacy-policy/.

Any information that ProposalCentral shares with us as part of our grant review process will be subject to this Privacy Policy in addition to Altum’s privacy policy. NWH is not responsible for any information you provide to ProposalCentral that is not shared with us and such information will only be subject to Altum’s privacy policy.

  3. Information we collect automatically. We collect information automatically about how you interact with our Services.
      1. Device and session information. We collect information about the device you use to access our Services and information that your device may automatically send us when using our services. This type of information includes type of computer or mobile device, browser type and language, IP address, mobile carrier, and unique device identifier.
      2. Activity. We collect information about how you use our Services, such as date and time that you use our Services, the number of times you use our Services, and the pages you view.
  4. Combining information we collect from different devices. You might access our Services from more than one device. We may combine and cross-reference information we collect through those different devices and platforms.
  5. Cookies. NWH uses cookies in its web-based Services. We explain what cookies are and how we use cookies in our Cookie Policy.

How do we use the information that we collect?

This section explains how we use the information about you that we collect.

  1. Helping to improve the services we offer. We use some of the information that we collect to help us improve NWH and offer new features. For example, we may use information about how often people log on to NWH and what features they like to use to update and redesign NWH to best service our community.
  2. Evaluating grant funding applications. If you apply for a research funding grant, we use some of the information included in your application as part of our evaluation process to determine if grant funding is appropriate. We may share information we receive in as part of your application with third parties with whom we contract to help us evaluate your application.

Does NWH share information?

Sometimes we share information with third parties. This section explains who we share information with and why.

Before we explain who we share information with, we think it’s just as important to tell you who we do not share information with. First, NWH does not sell your information. Second, unless we are required by law, and other than sharing with certain scientific advisors for the limited reasons described below, NWH never shares information that could identify you.

We do share some information with certain third parties.

Service providers. NWH uses service providers to help us run our platforms and to make sure that you have the best experience possible using NWH. We get help from third parties to do things like host our website and servers, keep your information safe and secure, and receive technical support. For example, we have a service provider securely store the information you give us on its servers.

NWH’s service providers may likewise share with NWH information that they collect about you or from you in the course of providing their services.

Scientific advisors. NWH engages scientific advisors to help us evaluate applications for grant funding and investments. Our scientific advisors require access to certain information, including certain personally identifying information, in order to make a fair and educated evaluation of your grant application.

AI grant review partners. The extensive review and evaluation of grant funding applications and corresponding materials and manuscripts can be a time-consuming and rigorous exercise which could delay the funding of scientific ventures that can advance women’s health.

In order to expedite our review, we engage with select third parties who provide us with access to AI platforms which can be used to help review and evaluate materials and manuscripts as part of your grant application. These select third parties will not share externally any data we share with them.

Complying with law enforcement and legal requests and preventing harm. We work hard to keep your information private. Even so, there are times when we may use, share, or disclose your information when we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with laws, regulations, or legal requests. We may also share your information to address fraud, security, or technical issues, to address malicious or abusive use of our platforms, to protect the safety of NWH users, or to protect our rights or the rights of those who use our services. Finally, if you submit a comment about something that another grantee or applicant has written, we may share the substance of that comment with the affected individual or organization to give them an opportunity to respond. In the event of a security breach, we will notify affected individuals, regulatory authorities, and others consistent with our requirements under federal and state law and our contractual obligations.

How we keep your information secure.

NWH works hard to protect your information. We use physical, technological, and procedural safeguards to secure your information when it is being transmitted and stored. It’s important to remember that even though we have several safeguards in place to protect your information, nothing on the internet is 100% secure.

The choices you have with your information.

This section explains what choices you have with the information that we receive from you or about you. You have three choices when it comes to your information:

  1. Not providing us with your information. You have the choice not to provide us with your information. However, as we explain above, we need certain pieces of information from you in order for you to use NWH’s services. Certain services or other ways to use the NWH platform to connect with third parties, require you to provide additional information.
  2. Deleting or correcting your information. If you no longer want us to collect and use your information, you can ask us to delete it. You can also correct any information about you that you provide to us that you believe is inaccurate, other than information you provide directly to Altum through ProposalCentral in which case you will need to contact Altum to delete or correct such information.

NWH is not responsible for any lost, stolen, expired, damaged, or otherwise misdirected communications due to change of address, email address or for any other reason. You are solely responsible for updating any changes to your contact information.

If you would like to delete or correct information about you, contact [email protected] to ask us to delete or correct or access any information we may have about you. We may need to verify your identity before deleting or correcting your information. Note a request to delete or correct information, or your notice of withdrawal of your consent to use information, will not affect the lawfulness of our uses or sharing of your personal information before you request such deletion or correction or withdraw your consent. Your withdrawal of consent will not affect the legal validity or enforceability of NWH’s Terms of Service, which are available on our website and are accepted by you by use of the Services.

In addition, NWH or our partners may need to send you certain communications. You may not be able to opt out of those communications.

What about information about children or information that is subject to legal restriction?

NWH is not meant for children under the age of 13 and is intended to be used and accessed only by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 without the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Certain states and countries have additional restrictions on the collection of information from minors, and certain states and other countries have additional restrictions on collection of information from adults.

By using the Services, you represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to an embargo by the U.S. government or any other governing authority, or that has been designated by the U.S. government or any other governing authority as a “terrorist supporting” country; and (ii) you are not listed on, or engage with any persons listed on, any list of prohibited or restricted parties by the U.S. government or any other governing authority. The use of “governing authority” refers to any federal, national, state, tribal, provincial or local, whether domestic or foreign, government or any court of competent jurisdiction, administrative agency or commission or other governmental entity or instrumentality, whether domestic, foreign or supranational.

If you believe that we have collected information from children under the age of 13 or that we have collected or used information in a manner that is not in compliance with applicable law, please contact us at [email protected].

How can I find out about updates to NWH’s Privacy Policy?

Sometimes we update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will post a notice on our platforms explaining what changed.

At the top of this Privacy Policy, you can see the date of the latest changes. If you have any questions, you can always reach out to us at [email protected].
